Winning only 1 game this season of spring t-ball, and tying 2 games, these pictures are of the tournament in which his team played the 1st game and won. Which meant that they would play again in an hour, and won the 2nd game! So then they had to play in 2 hours to see if they would go on to play the following Monday a final tourney.
Well, the 3rd game of the day, was a doosie! A 3 inning (45min.) tournament game turned into a 7 inning (3HOUR) game! The poor kids were dragging and worn out, but kept their heads up and played their best the whole time. I never heard a complaint. We tied every inning, so they kept playing to break, with no success. Finally, at a score of 40 to 40, the coaches and ball park committee met on field to determine how to break the tie. The batters would get 3 pitches without a T. The first to get a run home would score. We batted first, the last batter got a run, but got out on first base. So, (sigh), the other team won by 1 (only 1). I am so pleased for Isaac and his team! We made it to the finals, The Underdogs, took everyone by surprise! It has been a fun experience for child and parents and grandparents! And Isaac and so happy to have made new friends! His coaches I have to mention, were the most patient, relaxed, fun, and optomistic I observed from all other coaches that we saw displaying unfavorable behavior, sportsmanship, and tone of voice for a 5/6yro. ball game! I.Z. felt boosted every game from his coaches! They have wonderful personalities and families! Thank you Coaches! And I am so happy to know the kind parents of Isaac's teammates!
Here is I.Z. with his honorary medal of baseball! He thought he won anyway, he was just happy to get his medal! And of course, he IS a winner! He played his best, batted after being injured (a smashed finger from a pitch), and had fun! P.S. Isabel is running in the background! P.S.S. I told Isaac to stand here on third for a picture, he said,"but Mom this isn't home plate." Everytime he ran home and scored for the team, he would stand there for a moment and throw his arms up in the air as though to proclaim, "Victory!"
